Aging Out of Foster Care System: Problems and Programs of Young Adults

My research was to find what the initial problems were and find out why they had these struggles as they made their transition. I discovered that after they had transitioned, they struggled with being homeless, financial problems and dropping out of school. Community Underwater: Emancipating Foster Youth without Life Skills

LaFranks)   Roughly 25,000 children emancipate or “age out” of foster care each year in the U.S.  These youths are at higher risk for negative life outcomes, stemming from the underdevelopment of independent living skills required to make a successful transition into adulthood.
